How many times have you waited and waited and waited... to do something you knew you needed to do? Sometimes there's a reason for procrastination.

I spend a fair amount of time on direct mail for our business. I mail introductory letters and brochures to potential customers. Recently I had about 60 letters ready to be folded, stuffed, and mailed. Somehow I never got around to getting the job done...

My husband and I attend Glazer-Kennedy Insider Circle meetings monthly, so I decided to take one of our marketing letters to get comments and suggestions from other business owners attending the meeting. Lo and behold, after our Chapter Advisor reviewed our marketing letter, we discovered a typo in the letter! Now I know we are human, still it would have been embarrassing if we had mailed out a letter meant to bring business that potentially demonstrated our lack of thoroughness...

How many times have you heard that little voice telling you to do something that you ignored? How many times have you regretted not listening? If you're like me, it's every time.

Sometimes I do things just because I have a "feeling" I should do it, not having a clue why... Usually I find out later why, or maybe I don't necessarily see why, but I trust that there was a reason - something I avoided because I did listen.

I have quit keeping track of the number of times I have told my husband we needed to do something for a particular customer, and that customer called or emailed us within just a few hours. It happens over and over - and it's a gift, one we should never take for granted and learn to trust above all we see with our eyes and hear with our ears. It's a gift that has the ability to lead us to a better life than we could ever imagine with our limited physical senses.

I have learned to quit looking outside of me to find the answers. I went through the phase of having many coaches and they were helpful for the learning I needed to do. But there comes a time when you need to respect your own intuition and quit trying to make your business look like someone else's. It's that time for me. The time to step back and look at what's working for me and my lifestyle and what isn't. It's time to choose how I want my business to operate, whether someone else thinks it will work or not. Because sometimes people don't know what they don't know, and I'm willing to show them it's time to think for myself in my own authentic and unique way.

Maybe it's time for you to do the same?

I am in the infancy stage of learning to trust my inner voice, my intuition. I'm beginning to notice how often it is right - all of the time. I especially notice when I ignore it, and find out later how much it cost me in terms of peace and even prosperity.

Many years ago, about 15 to be exact, I did listen when it told me it was time to move on - to leave my job of 24 years and grab the freedom that was surely better. I had no idea what I would be doing, or where the road of self-discovery would take me, but I just knew I had to get out of the corporate rat race. I am so thankful that I listened.

Here I am 15 years later looking back knowing that I did what I had to do on blind faith that it would all work out somehow. I'm so glad I couldn't see the road ahead, because I most certainly would not have had the guts to make the change if I could have seen all the ups and downs that were ahead of me...

I hope you are listening to your intuition and living the life you came here to live. As the visionary teacher and author Sonia Choquette said:

"The more you embrace your intuition as a positive force in your life, the more it will become so."

And so it is...

From Business Owner to Life Owner

Being a business owner has many ups and downs. It's fun, exhilarating, and has the big perk of providing the freedom a job takes away. At the same time, you have to create your own income sources and become a "jack of all trades" as you are often the CEO, CFO, President, Chief Cook and bottle washer of everything. As any new business owner knows, you are really in the marketing game, no matter what business you are in because without clients, there is no business...

All the stress that comes along with building your own business can create a lot of self doubt and fear. What has kept me going for the last 15 years of being a co-owner and entrepreneur, in partnership with my husband, has been lots of learning from others who have "been there and done that", my innate common sense, and most of all faith that there is a Creator who is always guiding me to the best thing I can do every step of the way.

I have also been a student of A Course in Miracles for the last 15 years, which has kept my mind and path straight. Here's a couple of quotes that I love.

"Can your grandeur be arrogant when God Himself witnesses to it? And what can be real that has no witnesses? What good can come of it? And if no good can come of it the Holy Spirit cannot use it." (T.Ch9.VIII.9:1-4)

"You are altogether irreplaceable in the Mind of God. No one else can fill your part in it, and while you leave your part of it empty your eternal place merely waits for your return." (T.Ch9.VIII.10:1-2)

What these quotes say to me is we must give our gifts to the world to feel whole and complete. Until we do, no one else can fill our part the same way we do. Until you give your real self so that other beings can see, experience, and witness to its reality, your gifts don't feel real to you or anyone else.

There is a Voice inside showing you the way. Will you follow it in the expressions you give to the world through your interactions with life whether it be in your business or personal life? It's all the same. It's all about you and your relationship with life, no matter what form it takes.

You must give your gifts to the world, and only you know what they are. Until you do, you will feel like you're wandering around in a daze of unrest trying to figure out why nothing feels quite right...

Why not take one small step today to do what you know you came here to do?

Happy birthday Rose Kennedy!

Today is Rose Kennedy's birthday. The life she lived and the heartaches she endured can only be fully appreciated by us moms. How she held herself together through such trying times is a testament to her faith, determination, and tenacity for life.

As I contemplate her amazing life, it makes me realize how blessed I am, and to go into each and every day with the same tenacity, faith, and determination to create the life I was meant to live, and to reach out to those I was meant to touch in this lifetime.

We all have creatures we are meant to touch, human or otherwise. As we keep on keeping on being who we are meant to be we become "soulpreneurs" and find that indeed life is very good!

We are starting to interview potential employees for our construction business today. I keep hearing about so many people unemployed and hurting right now. My husband and I are blessed to be building a thriving business using all the marketing techniques we can find. We are willing to get out there and do what it takes to be a "soulpreneur" - thriving as much as we can, allowing good stuff to come so we can help other people. That's our calling, to thrive and help others thrive. We help no one by sitting on the sidelines complaining, stressing, and waiting for life to give us what we think we are due.

My wish for you is that you find the joy of being a "soulpreneur" in charge of your life too!

Making room for an inspired life - your real life

You may be at a crossroads in your business right now, as I am. It's time to step back and see what unfolds naturally. I have felt business and life has become too structured, too contrived towards the pursuit of making a buck. The above quote reminds me that what's really important is being happy, making room for what I care most about in my life. It's nice to know that I don't have to know exactly what that looks like. All I have to do is have a "little willingness" to give up my preconceived notions of what that is and make room in my mind and life for it to appear.


Many years ago when I worked for AT&T, I took a leap of faith and gave up the corporate rat race after a 24 year run. I didn't know how we were going to pay the bills or where life would take me next. All I knew was it was time to move on. I followed my gut, which assured me all was well. After 15 years of freedom, I can tell you that all has not always been as well as I would have liked it to be, but it has worked out better than I could ever have imagined in my limited view of life. I'm so glad I didn't limit myself to the "good opinion of others", who told me I was crazy to leave a secure job after all that time with no plans for the future. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do...

A new take on gratitude...

The late Eric Butterworth wrote, "gratitude isn't an emotional response, but a causative energy. Anything of which we are keenly aware looms in our thoughts day and night."

Gratitude is a wonderful tool to help bring us into the awareness that we are greatly loved and have access to everything we have ever wanted, if only we can get past the mindsets that are holding us in a state of limited thinking.

Some think it is a blessing to awaken in a warm, comfortable bed, look forward to a nutritious breakfast, and a day of freedom to do as we please. While I know in many places these everyday blessings are non-existent, I would like to entertain the idea that rather than being a privilege and a blessing that we need to be thankful for, they should be the normal lifestyle for all beings in the world.

Yes, I appreciate and love my life, but wouldn't it be nice if we all were loving the life we are living, and gratitude was just the emotional response we experience as a result?
